TRACKSIDE "Where the truth makes the story"

The Chopping Block
There’s a difference between KyHarnessRacing.com and The
KHHA /KCRA. The KHHA/KCRA officials think the KY horsemen
exist to provide THEM with Positions. I think THEIR positions exist
to provide KY Horsemen with More Dates. I make it my duty to
make sure they know that.
Retired from the Army Corp of Engineers, Truman Emerson had
this to say, "The only mistake that KyHarnessRacing.com has
made, is while giving away all those dinners for two from Texas
Road House and Applebee's, places like that, you guys forgot that
the first ones you needed to give a dinner to, was the good ole
boys, Napier, Harris, those guys like that. Hey, it really would have
made things a lot smoother for you. They are used to that kind of
stuff."
KyHarnessRacing.com was on the chopping block last week at the
McCracken Co. Fair. It seems the officials and those handpicked
employees of the Ky Colt Assoc. said "That site needs to be shut
down immediately." Why? Because we tell the truth, what
normally is hidden? Like say, paying timekeepers $350 or the
photo finish $600? I could go on and on like Jerry McGuire and ask
"SHOW ME THE MONEY" but I'll just let the KY AG Dept., work on
the AUDIT.
Rather, I would like to thank KHRA License Administator,
Al "Big Al the Horsemens Pal" Slayback, for defending the
horsemen, stating "I think the site is great, we need more honest
people like them, The site is the best site KY horsemen have EVER
SEEN." I couldn't agree more AL. Our readers are growing too..,
We are now being viewed coast to coast "sea to shining sea",
border to border, From NJ to California and Texas to Ontario. We
now have readers nationwide.
Tom Lamarra of Bloodhorse and Hoofbeats magazines wrote an
article on KyHarnessRacing.com and Trackside this Month. Mr.
Lamarra called my first para-mutuel win on Black Magic Bret at the
Red Mile and is one of the best journalists we have in harness
racing. I have nothing but the utmost Respect for his writings.
Why, you might ask, were the pylons move in last week at the
Paducah fair? We may never know, since the issue is now dead
and doesn't really matter to anyone. (EXCEPT THE PUBLIC).
Let's see "the fence master" moved the pylons in. UH!OH! Could
it be they were moved in to improve the time for the sale? Oh
wait! I forgot, "the fence master" said the reason for moving the
pylons was to get rid of that HAIRPIN TURN. Is it just me or is
this an admission of "ALTERING THE COURSE". Is this allowed in
our sport. Oh right. The betting public doesn't care. They are used
to fraud (OOPS!!! sorry that may be to strong a word for the
Cornbread Mafia and Co. MISINFORMED sounds better.)
There was one Promising star absent from this week's fair.
It was 6 time winner Real Model. Why the no show? Ontario
based trainer William Prescator purchased the 3 yr old pacing filly
for a whopping $100,000. Thus proving there is a sucker born
every day. Good Luck Bill..
The Marion Co. Fair showed that not every favorite can win and
not every horse can go undefeated. Chevie Classic Rod dueled
with Clapifuc Bluegrass down the stretch in 2:04.1. Showing the
ROD" is vulnerable and now BEATABLE. Same with pacing filly Get
Ready to Rumba, who Don Conrad and Mike Neafus tawted as the
'BEST' pacing filly in KY, along with stable mate Zoom Past You.
Both were beat this week. On Monday, in the PASS at the
Meadows, the filly was a very tiring 5th, while Rumba was beaten
in the stretch by Femfetal Bluegrass (Daughter of the mighty
Faithhill Bluegrass). Second time starter TwinkleFireTwo was an
ULTRA IMPRESSIVE winner for the team of trainer, Terry Cullipher,
and owner, Ed Johnson, in 204.1, going gate to wire for the
victory.
Hoosier Park ended this past weekend and so did the hopes of
Brush the Sand, finishing distanced in a $6000 fm claimer for new
trainer Bobby Brower. Is Lasix the answer? Brett Pelling would not
have wait a whole season to scope one of his star pupils. But now
were are not talking about Mr. Pelling here either. Let's C now.
We have found a set of KEYS. They are not the KEYS that made
Jeff the driver he is today. To the contrary, JEFF holds the KEYS to
the "SAND" and the "YOKO". Look back in the books. It's all their
in Black and white print. You Sea......can you say...Mr. C.
Oh well, Jimminee Jack was looking for a new pasture mate
anyway...
And Finally, it has taken 2 years in the making, but the Battle of
the Red Mile's 2 best trotters will duke it out at Hawthorne
Raceway on Saturday night. Kevin Thomas' Justice Hall and
Stevie Waller's Two Weeks Notice. The connections for Two
Weeks, said "Justice has been dodging us for 2 years now, and
we cant wait to beat him." I just hope you guys can back it up
come Saturday against my friend Kevin.
On Saturday afternoon July 14, the Washington Co. Fair in
Lebanon Ky., will hold qualifiers for both gaits and sex. Of course it
was not posted yet on the KHHA's website. Maybe they posted it
in fine print at one of the fairs. It would be TOO difficult to all your
board members to get the word out. But they AGAIN HAVE
NOTHING TO DO WITH THE KY COLT ASSOCIATION, I just cant
seem to find their website anywhere..I am not sure who to
contact, but don't get shut out...
A 2 year old pacing colt went 1:51 last week at Mohawk.
What are your thoughts on that? Is it too early?
Congratulations to driver Pat Curtin and girlfriend fiance soon to
be, Ginny Wiley whom welcome their new daughter, Hope Curtin,
to the world..
