Action packed second week
Week two was Derby Week at the Downs, with 4
divisions of the Wildcat Series starting off with a
Bang. Or did it? 2 non-betting races due to lack of
horses. Where is Everybody? This is not the
McCracken County Series, is it? The trotting fillies had
a two horse match race with MT Bowles' Jon's Girl in
the winner's circle in 2:06.
The trotting colts turned out to be a great race with
"Trotting Great" Dirk Simpson sending out Like a
Breeze to square off against MT Bowles' Super Sims.
The two Like a Prayer colts hooked up at the 3/4 pole
for the Best stretch dual of the meet. 29 second last
quarters separated the 2 by only a half length with
Like a Breeze getting the best FOR NOW!
The pacing colt division saw Brian Cotton run at the
start with Reba's Big Boy and Pat Curtin took quick
advantage with Real Excited, gunning him to the
front just past the quarter pole and ran-off. The
timer clicked in 1:57.1..You will not beat this colt
folks!!
The much anticipated filly pace started with Speed
baller Cara Mia Hall (railed)....... not Leaving?? So
Lawrence Cooper and 2nd time starter Half Gold Rose
inherited the front to a 59 half. From there it was
Scottie "the fence master" Harris' entry of Go
Ginny Go, and Real Model charging past with Pat
Curtin. And next week if Curtin drives Go Ginny Go,
you can reverse the exacta.
Remember Lawrence, "COOP SWOOP." Give Half Gold
Rose another shot when betting next week.
In the Over Nights, Curtis "the Godfather" Rice,
must have given the orders, because the Mississippi
Mafia were all on GO. Kelcey "Corleone" Perrymond
had 6 driving victories with a 4 bagger coming on
Friday's Card. Freddie Patton, Lawrence Cooper, and
Derrick Anderson followed suit each with a win.
Speaking of "Coop", I watched his talent with a
very-hard-to-handle colt by the name of Call Me
Biscuit. Cooper was laid level in the bike heading
towards the gait With his horses head bouncing off
the gate, he almost got under the starting gate. The
quick hands and skill of Cooper not only got this colt
to relax, but DREW OFF in victory. Nice Drive COOP!!
TTT, yes the! other Tetrick had 2 wins this weekend.
You know, the Tetrick who trains, jogs, shoes and
drives all of his Tetrick, showed his talents too, this
weekend. Trotter Best Amos busted a wheel at the
start and TTT held this trotter together to 1/2 length
win. Great Steer TTT.
Tyler Shehan returned from Hoosier Park and was
victorious with 1:52 pacer Most Happy Keene to a
romp in 1:59.2. "I have to stop a minute here".
QUESTION??? If you are sitting 3rd behind a 1:52
Gorilla, you have know NOT ONE OUNCE OF
SUPPORT from the betting public WITH no tickets
sold, and you are driving a 2:05 pacer, would you pull
1st up before the half??
Lets go to General Coleman for the answer, shall
we? Lendell, fresh off a trotting win with Jessamine in
the previous race............................SAYS "YES".
The result....... LAST beaten 50 lengths in 2:09.2,
last quarter in 37 seconds!!! No telling what Pam was
saying at this point? So because of this spectacular
drive, I will be taking applications for the...............
"D.A. Award", and D.A. DOES NOT stand for
district attorney!! If I don't get any applicants, I will
place this award in its proper place. With that said,
"you are a great guy", but please stick to! the
Trotters..... General.
Brush the Sand was back in High Fashion putting on
a clinic in the FM Open winning by 8 1/2 lengths in
1:57.3.. In the REAL Open, Falita destroyed her
competition in 1:55.3. Maybe the two can meet next
week for the "Battle of the Bridle"?
Let's name the race, "I want my bridle back".
Say it with me now...... FA***LI***TA..
And could someone please tell the leader of the
"RAY CHARLES CLUB" to please return to his post.
His associates are having trouble with making
interference calls. The "Mr. Betting Public" would
like to know the correct information when
handicapping the races. I think you still can do jail
time for fraud in some countries.
And now my weekly Hot/Not List
My best bet--Miss Valley Victor, gentleman Dale
Bartley will win the miniseries with this very nice
trotter.
Sleeper Pick--BMacMoneyman---With patient
handeling, Paris McKinney will get this FAST Colt to
the winner's circle.
Watch List--Lady Ann Spur, Super Sims, and Lea
Legend..
Jiminee Jack must have read my retire to pasture list,
with an 8th and last in his 2 starts this week. Please
give him a break,..
Claim ALERT..Prodigal's Best in for $6000 at
Raceway Park...
