Ten Cent Superfecta's
10/10/07

I've been betting harness racing for over thirty years.
And never have ever seen a bet capture so much
interest from the betting public. There is no question
that the ten cent wager has added more money to
the pools. In retrospect, has this been a good thing
for the betting public, or a bad thing.

I personally think it has caused the pay offs to be
deluded and misleading. I always loved to put good
money into the superfecta pools, and sometimes was
rewarded with a nice payoff. Even though sometimes,
I only had the top three and missed the fourth place
horse. But, was rewarded because no one had the
top four. After the addition of the ten cent super,
    this is now virtually impossible.

When you can box six horses for $36 and seven
horses for $84, it is my opinion, people who can
spend $5 dollars in dime quick picks should not be
rewarded, as to someone that spends five hundred
    dollars handicapping a superfecta.

What do you think will be next? Twenty-five cent pick
fours? Fifteen cent trifectas? And also, give me
twenty cents to win and place on the three horse.

Please....harness race tracks.....do away with these
cheap and misleading bets. Help the people who are
willing to put money in the pools with a chance of
    being rewarded.
