A Board member reaches out
9/14/07 KyHarnessRacing.com

What would you expect us to do if a KHHA board
member came to us with a problem he had with
getting his horses raced last week and said, "I need a
favor". Since this KHHA board member stated that he
wanted to remain anonymous, we won't write what he
said. We will write about our concerns.

We can't let this go, without asking questions. Why
wouldn't this KHHA board member go to the
President or Secretary to express their concern about
the issue? Without a doubt, one of the reasons is
fear. Fear of having someone insulting their
intelligence. Or, being told "we will look into it", and
that be the last time it is talked about.

There could be other reasons why this board member
felt he couldn't discuss this with his fellow members,
president or the paid executive. Whatever the
reason, it is not healthy or productive for the
    horsemen, when the organization that
represents them, has created a wall within. Just
because the two people next to you, and the one in
the mirror, tell you what a great job you're doing,
doesn't automatically mean the other 10 million
    people in the world agree.

There are people that have set on the board in the
past who understand. Although I do not agree with
him remaining anonymous on his thoughts, but
I DO UNDERSTAND THE RAMIFICATIONS WHEN
    YOU REVEAL YOUR NAME.
