Mike Davis will fill the position of Associate Judge at
Bluegrass Downs this meet. Last year, he served as
    Race Secretary at the track.

This isn't Mikes first time to serve as a judge. Not
only has he been an associate judge, Mike Davis has
served as a Presiding Judge in the past. In 1999, he
attended the Accredited Senior Stewards School of
    Louisville.

Mike has had several different titles in the horse
business. "I'm very active in the business and I have
a lot of flexibility. I think this is what makes me best
fit this position. And also the dates worked out
perfect." he said. He also was a State Steward of
Virginia. In 1973 he was Deputy Commissioner for
    the Kentucky Harness Racing Commission.

From Race Secretary at tracks like Pompano Park,
The Red Mile, Balmoral Park and Quad City Downs, to
Presiding Judge at Henderson and now Associate
Judge at Bluegrass, Davis is looking forward to
getting started in his new seat.

Mike has also had the experience of being a business
owner, and currently holds a Realtor license in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina. He said business is business.
It doesn't matter if your an owner of a convenient
store or you're a horse trainer. One thing Mike said
he learned from being involved in other business,
that applies to us all, is this, "Every horseman is an
Independent Contractor. Whether he succeeds or
fails depends on how he conducts his business."
Question, Answer, Disappointment.

How would you feel, if you asked a KHHA board
member a question, about a horse related issue, and
the answer you got was, "It's none of your F-ING
business?" Total disappointment is the feeling you
    would most likely have.

Friday afternoon, KHHA board of director, Scottie
Harris, was asked a question by a KHHA member,
relating to purse money, and Scottie Harris' answer
was, "It's none of your F-ING business." There
were other people, in the room, that witnessed his
    action.

Is this the kind of representation the horsemen
have? If it is, we need knew representation. We
deserve better. The horsemen can only hope that
the KHHA does not support this type of behavior.
For a KHHA director, to talk to one of it's members
in this manner, is embarrassing and totally
disappointing. If a horsemen cannot ask one of their
leaders a question or make suggestions, then
something needs to change. This kind of behavior
should not be tolerated, and Mr. Scottie Harris
should be asked to resign from his position as a
director. If any board member embraces this
behavior, then they too, need to resign or their
    position be terminated.
