Professor Perkins
Press Release
Professor Perkins will be in the house when Bluegrass Downs opens for live racing in 2009, and
he will stay through the end of the Red Mile race meet. We recently caught up with "The
Professor". Here is what he had to say in his own words:
"Bring me an apple and sharpen your pencils. No chairs allowed.
Well folks, it looks like I'll be spending quite a bit of time in the Bluegrass state next year
(2009). I have officially accepted the job at all three tracks.
It was not a very difficult decision, as I had to choose between Hoosier and Kentucky.
Nothing against the hoosierinians, but I personally think there will be a ghost lingering
around in the background over there. I'll be the first to admit -- I'm not a ghostbuster.
That's that and Kentucky is where I'll be. I am so excited about this.
What I like so much about it is...seeing old friends. I'll get to rub shoulders with Edgar the
Weatherman (who by the way, is close friends of the Gov.), and Uncle Bobby (man, its
been a long time). I hope to see the Fence Master, is he still racing? Jer-Rail and The
General are always good company.
I want Edgar the Weatherman and Uncle Bobby to know that I don't hold anything
against them for FALSIFYING their KHHA newsletter last year, with the intent to try and
damage my intelligence. Because of the level of their IQ and their mentality, I forgive
them ---- they just don't need to try and pull that bullsh!t again.
One of the things that most excites about taking the position is that I get to work with
Batman and Boy Wonder. I have been hearing a lot of great things about this DYNAMIC
DUO. Boy Wonder has EAGERLY done an outstanding job promoting the website. That's
great. And Batman, I hear his approval rating of Boy Wonder is very high...even when the
Boy is wrong. But HEY...what are friends for!!
Also if I can pull it off, I will have the Hall of Famer - Billy O'Donnell at the downs to drive
for a day. I know that Billy O is a hero to many, especially to Boy Wonder. He has taught
the Boy so much about life, in the past 2 years.
In closing, I plan on being the best guy the people have had in recent years. And, if I can
be of any help or if you have any questions, feel free to send'em to me by email only, to
this site. And please, could somebody send my regards to Brian, I'm gonna miss him.
Class Dismissed!"
