I am disappointed that Steve Stewart is ineligible to return to the KHHA board of directors this year.  Hopefully, he will continue
to take time out of his schedule to help the Kentucky breeding and racing program and remain an asset to the future of our
industry.  In the mean time, show the directors that they are accountable as elected representatives and vote for positive
    change.

Janet Emerson - New Rule Change for Ky Fairs - Febuary 1, 2011
I think the new rule change is a great idea! I will consider this an eye for an eye! There was no hesitation when the rule was
changed in (the middle of the stream) to exclude non-residents from racing. This action just about devastated Ky fair racing
and our way of making a living. So you ,the breeders and suckups, are going to out smart yourselves and put yourselves out of
business. You will end up racing yourselves for no money. You have my blessings!

Gannun Loney
hey why dont yall put a pic of my dad brian loney on here he deserves it dont you think  all that stuff he does and you wont put
a pic of him on here.

John McGivens
It's amazing the time that people have on their hands. Your horseman's association needs your support and all you guys can
    do is be critical.

Abigail - Breathalyzer
Why was the breathalyzer removed from The Red Mile and taken to Keeneland?  I would think that Keeneland has their own or
the commission has enough to go around for multiple tracks racing on the same day.  Whoever is in charge of the Breathalyzer
should be given a fine or something for Morrill going on to the track drunk to begin with.

Lucian Blaylock
The track in question by Lucian Blaylock was Fairground Speedway in Louisville, KY. Was it a pari-mutuel track or just a fair
track. Anything about the track would be appreciated.

Billy Woodrum
I don't know if the judges had a hard on for CHRIS or just wanted to love on MIKE, but they had no merit in taking CHRIS
down. MIKE'S HORSE WAS SLUGGISH off the wings. And there is not one view, pan-shot or otherwise, that will show interference
by CHRIS' HORSE. ALSO KNOWING MIKE'S HORSE STUCK THEM IN ABOUT SAME SPOT LAST WEEK!! I have thought all in all this
meet the judges have did a fair job, but this was terrible and these judges should be made stand up and take accountability,
for people gambling there money on the right outcome and then being robbed in plain daylight!! IF ANY OF THE THREE CAN
TAKE ME UP AND SHOW ME DIFFERENT, I WILL BE MAN ENOUGH TO APOLOGIZE (PUBLICLY). AND I SURE AM WAITING!!

Lucian Blaylock
Can someone tell me about this track in Louisville, KY in 40's & 50's.

Mike Murphy
After me posting a comment on Brentlawn a friend of ours,Jimmie Sheeler, presented us with a Brentlawn progam from 1954.
My wifes father JH Webb and others known to many were in the program. They had purses of $800.00, probably a lot better
considering the year and what expenses were back then than now!!

Billy Woodrum - Charity Race
33 YEARS OF NIGHTLY SUPPORT FOR HARNESS RACING AND EACH YEAR I ASK TO GET TO RACE AROUND MY HOMETRACK JUST
ONCE FOR CHARITY AND I WANT TO RACE AGAINST TERRY C. MIKE MURPHY AND SAM BOWIE AND I KNOW GIVEN EQUAL HORSE
I CAN TAKE THEM!! AND I WILL GUARANTEE ATTENDANCE WILL BE UP TO SEE ME CROSS THE LINE FIRST!! SEE YOU 3 IN THE
    WINNERS CIRCLE!!

Mike Murphy  -- Track in Shelbyville, Ky
The name of the track in question was Brentlawn. Dave Howard in Indiana would know more about it. He lived near it and raced
    there.

William McClenahan
Shot in the dark.  I am doing preliminary research on what I think was a harness track between Louisville and Shelbyville (on
Jeff-Shelby line) in the late 1940s.  Oultine of track alleged to be visible on some aerial maps. Beside Route 60. Name reputed
to be Brookhaven/Bellehaven?  Any info helpful

Aaron Young
I have also noticed a couple of times where a horse that was leading or close at the 3/4 pole was charted behind horses,
therefore having an exaggerated final quarter.  It is not every race but there has been more than one instance.

Aaron Young - Dollar night bust
Yet again, $1 night bust. At about 10pm, I was told "we are out" of dollar sodas and then I over heard a couple of guys ask for
a $1 beer and they were told, wait for it, we are out.  After I asked, how could you be out of $1 sodas, I was given a warm can
of Pepsi for $1.  WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE?  Just a note, the last race went off at 11:20, over an hour patrons could not receive
the ADVERTISED $1 drinks.  Third week in a row, you got five to go.

Mike Murphy - Saturday night simulcasts
My wife and I went to the simulcasts last night. Got there at 6:30 went to get a program,"NO PROGRAMS". I ASK  WHY THERE
WAS ONLY 15 PATRONS IN THE PLACE AND ONLY A FEW HAD A PROGRAM. SO HOW MANY COULD THEY HAVE HAD?

AS THE NIGHT WENT ON THERE WAS A GOOD 75 T0 100 PATRONS. WHAT A SHAME TO GET A GOOD TURNOUT AND NOT HAVE
PROGRAMS!! Also on Thursday night, they had one person selling $1.00 beer. With a large crowd, making all those people
stand in a long line waiting to get a beer when they may have been betting on the races is not good. They finally hit on
something to get a good younger crowd here then make them stand in lines. Also they ran out of beer early, or had a problem
    with it.

My wife and I wanted a can beer but you had to go to the back of the $1.00 beer line to get service. Wonder how much they
could have made!!  However I noticed three people picking up trash, they should have been dispensing beer!! They have gone
all out on track up keep and that is a good thing. I just wish they would take care of the patrons as well, maybe they would
    keep coming!!

Tunedin247
are the judges watching the start of the race? they are above everyone what are they doing up there? why didn't they say
anything to the starter? how i would like to have seen joe costa screaming at the t.v. "recall recall"! do you think he broke his
    wine bottle?

Aaron J Young
I have to agree that this was yet another wasted opportunity to draw public interest.  And to think we gave up racing days and
purse money this year.  Where did that $100,000 go because, it sure isn't being used to help us out.  Thanks again KHHA, way
to strengthen the racing program.  But hey, we're guaranteed through next year, we'll worry about the rest of our lives later.

Ken Terpenning
Here is a question for everyone...Instant Racing is a machine that acts like a slot machine but with the patron betting on
previously run horse races. With the deal Red Mile, Keeneland, and the KHRC have that only allows the Red Mile to take
wagering on Standardbred and Quarter Horse Racing...will the instant racing machines installed there show Thoroughbred
races?? If so, is that a violation of the agreement??? Food for thought.

henry ottinger
i guess he should of been whipping n slashing so the fine would of been more then purse. he would of soured up his horse we
are talking about a maiden. most judges (not all) got that job because they couldn't make it as a horseman.

Ken Terpenning on Gerald Russell suspension
WOW! So I guess the judges do not think that the poor track management, lack of rule uniformity across the
industry, lack of advertisement and marketing, condition of the track's facilities, comfortableness, grade of
product, location, competition, urine smell throughout a grandstand, bad food and lack of
entertainment/incentive for patrons are the real reasons the tracks are losing business?? (OK SURE, now that
Gerald Russell is out, maybe the purses will go up....since there will be people betting the races.)

Note to judges and all the other Ostriches in this business with their heads buried in the sand: "By the time
you pull your heads out of the sand it will be too late and the tracks around you will be an afterthought and
guys like Gerald Russell will NOT be the cause of the tracks disappearance!"

Aaron J Young on Gerald Russell suspension
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  Rich Williams, THE BIG RICHARD, free Mr. Russell.

William Pinkston on Gerald Russell suspension
Is 6 months really productive. In Chicago a leading driver was given 7 days for doing this same thing with a 1-9 favorite. The
stewards their gave him 7 days. That make much more sense than 6 months. I think if you've been to any racetrack in
Kentucky lately, you wouldn't say that Gerald Russell is the reason why people don't come out. What a joke. The judges at
Thunder Ridge have lost all respect from the horsemen.

Concerned Owner
Tracks complain they have problems...check this out...nothing like having horses in your barn, feeding them, having vet work
done, shoeing them, training them then having them miss 3 weeks out of 6 entry attempts because there is no classes for
them to race in. Just recently, a track north of Lexington had 56 entries for a FM NW of $1000 last four starts and only wrote 2
races for the entire weekend...do the math 56-20=36 horses left in the barns while the track makes stall rent, the vet gets
paid, the farrier gets paid, the feed man gets paid...everyone gets paid but the owner who has to then tell the trainer, I'm
sorry, but I can't pay you yet since we only raced 3 out of 6 times and had the 8 or 9 hole in all three of those starts and got
only 1 check for $156. Oh and btw, the track borrowed money from the horsemen's purse account to pay the simulcast fees due
and now they don't have the money to pay the people that did race. Do you think there's a problem there? Just wait till the
    slots come.

Truman Emerson
I love your latest homer report. It is so true. I remember when your dad told me a long time ago, that the biggest problem
that you would have in the horse business was your IQ. And he wasn't meaning lack of. Keep up the good work little buddy.
    You have my support.

Mike Murphy
Slots - Another State gets the upper hand on Ky. It was reported that opposition to Governor Strickland's Slot proposal in Ohio
has been dropped and the Governor will go ahead and put 2500 vlt at the 7 Ohio tracks. Every state around us is getting ahead
of us. Although its not all bad that we can ship a short distance to race our horses although we will have to breed and support
their programs instead of our own! And of course the Kentucky citizens that want to gamble will also continue to support those
states, what a sad state it is for Ky.

Tunedin247
great report homer see you when you get to lexington. thats is somefunny shit. i give it  A++ 4 stars.

Ken Terpenning
I agree Mike. I posted a note to Andy on his Facebook page on a good effort and that I was sorry he did not win. I will add,
however, that he only received 2,738 votes compared to Kerr's 6,805. With all of the horsemen and women in the district, horse
farms and Keeneland, one has to wonder where the support from our industry was, especially knowing how Kerr is against
expanded gaming (because of the social ramifications gaming may bring?? *That's called political BS by the way*)

Mike Murphy (about Dr. Andy Roberts)
I think every horseman owes Andy a compliment on his election bid. He had the guts  to try and do something to help our
industry, we need more people to try and make a difference!!

Ken Terpenning (in reference to the recent KHHA newsletter being published on KHHA website)
    Bravo Gabe! Bravo!!

    Loosing It
I can remember the goods ole days at Louisville Downs when they would be playing the "DAILY DOUBLE POKA" and people
would actually be running from the parking lot to make their double bets. The music was a signal they knew what it meant and
they responded. Its a shame that the tracks have forgotten how to promote, wish Bill King was still around! Ky politics are a
shamble they are in session for months and can't do the one thing they were suppose to,make a budget. The govenor should
just go on and implement the lottery slot law and let the chips fall. He ran on a platform to help the industry and has yet to
produce, its time, I doubt the industry can waite another year and would the propects be any better!! Surely if the thorobred
horsemen, the standarbred horsemen, the quarter horsemen and the other horse people got together we could make a
difference, just look at the TEA PARTY PEOPLE, don't you think they are going to make a difference!!

Billy Woodrum
Terry I would like to give you credit on article which I personally think hit nail on head. IT'S a sad shame that some are not
open minded enough to see the dead end street, and before long that will no longer exist!! Your article was well rounded,
informative, and very true to us few who still have a passion for this great state and sport!!

BEST OF LUCK AS YOU CONTINUE THE ONE VOICE WHO IS TRYING VERY HARD TO GET PEOPLE TO WAKE UP AND TAKE A
    STAND!!!

Ken Terpenning
    Dear Watchdog Committee,

I agree with your article that there comes a time for people to step up and pass judgment on their elected officials as to
whether or not they are doing the job they brag that they are doing and whether or not what they are doing is in your best
interests. The only flaw I see in the whole issue is this… we can hold our elected officials responsible for what they do and do
not do, but who holds us accountable for the same? In other words, it is one thing to say what you are in favor for or talk about
how you would change things, but the bottom line is what have “We the People” actually done??

We say we want our sport to survive, we say slots is a key to making that happen, even if it is only for a few more years, but
the lack of the people in the industry actually getting involved is near non-existent. I believe we can count on just a couple of
fingers the number of rallies we have held in Frankfort. What about attending the KHHA meetings as members and voicing our
opinions? Or Lobbying the doors of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission?? What about simple things like typing up fliers
and handing them out on the steps of the Capitol or simply talking to people on the street and having them sign a petition?

Yes, the bulk of the responsibility is on the elected officials to take action, but did our Forefathers and the Colonists sit idly by
and wait for the British to go away and leave them be? No! They took actions that spurred our elected officials to act, like
dumping boxes of tea into the Boston Harbor and holding meetings amongst each other to discuss what they could do to spur
change, not to mention rising up and taking control when the British bullied average citizens around by stripping their lands,
killing their livestock, burning their houses and raping their women. These events by “We the People” gave way to the birth of
our country and its freedom we enjoy today.

So I ask you, Watchdog Committee and fellow Horsemen and Women…what exactly have we done to help our cause?? (*Cue
the crickets!*) And, what will we do going forward to force a change for the better of our industry, our lives and our families???

RIP for all Ky Race Tracks. It is a shame that these people are so blind. Why can't they let the people vote for the gaming in
Ky. I thought we, as taxpayers and citizens, had the right to be heard! But I guess not. Well Ky will not be known as The
Bluegrass State or their beautiful Horse Farms, anymore.
