Red Mile racing and New rules for Kentucky

    New Medication Rules - The Kentucky Horse
    Racing Authority has promulgated new medication
    rules and penalties governing standardbred racing in
    Kentucky and are now in effect as of June 1, 2007.

    Safety Vests are now required for everyone
    warming up or racing at a parimutuel meet in
    Kentucky. This includes trainers and grooms.

    The Kentucky Owner’s Bonus will once again be in
    effect for the Red Mile summer meet. Owners who
    are Kentucky residents and/or owners who raced
    horses in at least two of the 4 venues on a regular
    basis in 2006 could be eligible for the 2007 program.
    Sign up early, since this program is NOT retroactive
    and begins when an owner is signed up for the
    program and is also a current member of the
    Kentucky Harness Horsemen’s Association.

    Purse Checks and Drivers Checks. Don't forget,
    at The Red Mile, your paperwork must be completed
    and turned in at the General Office before a check will
    be made to you. Checks are made out once at The
    Red Mile.
